You definitely can upgrade one at a time. Many Jeeps come stock with differently sized axles front to rear. And yes, the ring and pinion gear ratios have to be the same if you want all of your tires to spin at the same rate in 4wd. The Super 35 kit is available for both C-clip and non-C-clip axles. The kit replaces the smallish shafts with 1.31-inch 30-spline pieces that are over 35 percent stronger than stock. These are the same size as the shafts found in many Dana 44s and even some Dana 60s!
How strong can you make a Dana 30?
Yes, you can get better parts, stronger joints and axles and you may be able to bring a 30 up to a stock 44 for strength, but do the same to a 44 and your still gonna be beefier.
Is Dana 35 C clip?
35c is a little bit newer version of dana35. C stands for a Custom as the axle was delivered to the end user without axle brackets. The axle is C clip, which holds the axle shafts in the carrier. It uses a centre pin to lock the shafts in.
