A: The Aquarium does not allow any outside food within the Aquarium. However, we do have picnic tables located on the plaza on a first come, first serve basis. Any snacks, lunches or edible items may be consumed in this area.

Yes they do allow small book bags inside. over a year ago. They do allow backpacks. They are subject to search and they do offer lockers for rent.
Is the National Aquarium worth it?
We visited the National Aquarium today and it was very nice. We felt the dolphin enclosure was small and that the amount of people allowed per time entry should be decreased. The National Aquarium is worth visiting if you have the money.
