What do you do with a sick guppy?
If you want to treat your fish, you should not treat the entire aquarium, but you should give an Epsom salt bath to the sick guppies. Put 2 tablespoon of Epsom salt to 1 gallon of water, and put the fish in it for about 30-45 minutes. Make sure that the water has the same temperature as the water in your tank.
How can you tell if your fish is dying?
Sick fish
- Loss of appetite.
- Weakness or listlessness.
- Loss of balance or buoyancy control, floating upside down, or ‘sitting’ on the tank floor (most fish are normally only slightly negatively-buoyant and it takes little effort to maintain position in the water column)

Does water conditioner work instantly?
Add water conditioners to the aquarium before refilling with water, it works instantly and will not harm the fish. Neutralizes the chlorine and chloramines typically found in tap water, making it safe for fish. Helps to reduce the stress on fish as they become familiar with their new environment.
How long do you let water conditioner sit before adding fish?
You must also add fish food every food during the cycle to mimic the fish poops which produce ammonia. Otherwise your cycling will be useless. However, if you are adding water to a pre-established aquarium. You should only have to wait 15 minutes or what it says on the packaging.
Will Prime kill bacteria?
Not that prime will kill bacteria directly, but rather reduce their population size by essentially starving out a percentage of the population. Yes, the biofilter still has to eliminate the ammonia.

Will too much prime hurt fish?

Does Prime affect cycle?
A: Prime® works by removing chlorine from the water and then binds with ammonia until it can be consumed by your biological filtration (chloramine minus chlorine = ammonia). The bond is not reversible and ammonia is still available for your bacteria to consume. Prime® will not halt your cycling process.

Can you use prime and quick start?
Quickstart and prime should be compatible, I’ve never had issues using the two together. From my understanding prime does not actually remove ammonia.

Once you have zero ammonia, zero nitrite, and start detecting nitrate, your aquarium is cycled. If you have livestock in the aquarium during this process, treat the water daily with Seachem Prime.
