Enamel is special also in that a turpenoid-based lighter fluid—like Zippo lighter fluid—can be used to thin it out for use with panel lines and clean up.
Do you Panel line before or after painting?
It’s always a good idea to panel line. Hit the kit with clear coat after painting, then go to town. I prefer using an enamel wash to panel line, as it’s easy to clean up and lighter fluid doesn’t damage an acrylic clear coat. If you want to both paint and panel line, you don’t really have a choice!
