What is the D-Plan at Dartmouth?
With Dartmouth’s distinctive D-Plan, you customize your own academic calendar. Dartmouth offers four ten-week terms per year, so that leaves more than half of your terms open for your own planning. On campus or off campus: you choose. Your D-Plan is your personal enrollment pattern.

Is Dartmouth a quarter system?
At Dartmouth, we have four 10-week quarters each year (fall, winter, spring, summer), giving you a total of 16 terms to work with during your undergraduate study. You must enroll in 12 terms to graduate, and you must spend seven of those terms on campus taking classes (see the Flexible Study Plan matrix below).
Does Dartmouth have an open curriculum?

How many clubs does Dartmouth have?
Undergraduate Student Clubs and Organizations Undergraduate students manage more than 160 groups and organizations.
Does Dartmouth have Greek life?
Dartmouth College is host to many Greek organizations, and a significant percentage of the undergraduate student body is active in Greek life. Greek organizations at Dartmouth provide both social and residential opportunities for students, and are the only single-sex residential option on campus.
Do all Dartmouth applicants get an interview?
While our alumni work hard to offer as many interviews as possible, we are not able to offer interviews to all applicants due to alumni availability and geography. Interviews are arranged after you have submitted your application. Not having an interview will not put you at a disadvantage in the admissions process.
Can you get into Dartmouth without Subject Tests?
Dartmouth College is test optional for the Class of 2026. No. SAT Subject Tests are an optional part of our review process. Not submitting scores will not prevent your candidacy from receiving a full review by the Admissions Committee.
Do Ivies track demonstrated interest?
For example, the most highly ranked schools, including the Ivy League schools, MIT, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago do not track your demonstrated interest.
