Do you have to be big to throw discus?

Why are discus throwers fat?
What is this? They’re very muscular. It’s just hidden under some fat because they eat a lot of calories to build that muscle and aesthetics isn’t a priority so they don’t bother losing whatever fat they gain from bulking.
