Are all shift knobs the same thread size?
75% of all our shift knobs come standard with a 16mm x 1.5 master insert that will receive our threaded reducers to accommodate all vehicle shifter rod sizes. Any size master is available upon request, whether it be threaded or non-threaded (no threads), such as for the newer JEEPS or FORD TRUCKS.
Are all shift knobs the same?
Many shift knobs have a universal fit. You can install them in a wide range of cars and shift levers. However, you will need an adapter if the shift knob you get doesn’t fit the shaft correctly.
Can you use any shift knob?
Most of the custom shift knobs we offer are a universal-fit design – meaning they are not created to fit any particular car or truck the way vehicle-specific ones are. In most cases, universal-fit knobs can be screwed on to the end of any stick shift rod for a manual transmission.
How do you fix a shifter knob?
Turn the knob counterclockwise or remove the screw at the base of the knob to remove the knob from the shift lever. Install the new knob on the shift lever by threading it clockwise onto the shift lever or sliding it onto the shift lever and tightening the screw to the base of the knob.

2nd remove the gear boot and cut the cable tie off around the knob, slide it back lower down the shaft. now get a screwdriver and pry around the base of the gear knob and you will see underneath the black rubber, 4 blue clips, pry them out of the way. Now just simply lift the knob up and WOLLAH!
