Goku Black achieved the form when his power as a Super Saiyan surpassed Super Saiyan God, naturally evolving his Super Saiyan form into Super Saiyan Rosé. In the anime, he gained the form by simply integrating Goku’s fighting style into his own.
Why is Goku called black?
This is because Akira Toriyama has openly called this character Goku Black and it’s far more likely he is an alternate version of Goku with linkages to the Supreme Kais from another universe, hence the Potara earring, rather than a grown up Goten or anyone else for that matter.
