It began with Den trying to tell Angie that he wanted a divorce. Angie was shocked and for a moment defeated, but she then dropped her bombshell and told Den that she only had six months to live. At first Den didn’t believe her, but eventually Angie’s hysterical performance convinced him.
Was Angie Watts really dying?
Angie left the Square in 1988 to be with her lover, Sonny, in Spain. She later moved to Miami and remarried. In the end, the drinking was her downfall, not Den – she died of cirrhosis of the liver in 2002.
