Why is Final Fantasy X the best?
The story of Final Fantasy X is one of the best stories ever told in the franchise, if not the entirety of gaming. The story takes several twists and turns that somehow make sense in the context of the game’s world — something that can’t be said for the majority of Final Fantasy games.

Overrated: Final Fantasy X. In fact, I think Final Fantasy X is pretty good. However, I do believe that it’s overrated by both fans and critics. It’s linear, the story is average, and there are a lot of cheesy moments.

Final Fantasy X stands out because it doesn’t feel like a Final Fantasy game at all. While it has all the familiar trappings of the franchise — from a dark entity attempting to take over the world to a merry band of adventurers fighting for a cause — it feels unique amongst other games in the series.

Absolutely amazing game. FFX does start a little slow, but as you learn more about the world you get really sucked in and once the first major plot twist happens you’re just sucked in for ages. You can spend hours playing this game, it’s just amazing.
Is ff10 open world?
It doesn’t open up but there is some large field later sort of like in 13. You can go back and revisit towns though, but it feels like there’s no point.
Is FF 10 linear?
FFX is fairly unashamedly linear. Near the end of the game there’s several sidequests you can undertake for ultimate weapons, bonus bosses, etc., but it’s largely linear.
Is FFX HD remaster worth it?
It’s worth it just for Final Fantasy X, if you’ve played it before but it’s been a while, the remaster really does it justice. X-2 is a different story, it’s a game I really liked but I’m in the minority… a teeny, tiny minority.

FF-X didn’t bring a lot new or interesting to the table, it was just well polished. It’s story is pretty poor and many of the characters are weak as heck, but the gameplay is spot on and while it didn’t really ‘branch out’ beyond what other games had been doing it did it CORRECTLY.
