Why is the sun not moving?
Because it is a gas, the spinning of the sun is not like the spinning of the earth. The sun spins in regions and at different rates in those different regions. The various regions of the sun swirl and bubble, further confusing the overall rotation.
How is the Sun stable?
The sun is currently classified as a “main sequence” star. This means that it is in the most stable part of its life, converting the hydrogen present in its core into helium. Our solar system is just over 4.5 billion years old, so the sun is slightly more than halfway through its stable lifetime.

Do stars fall?

Why do stars die?
Stars die because they exhaust their nuclear fuel. Really massive stars use up their hydrogen fuel quickly, but are hot enough to fuse heavier elements such as helium and carbon. Once there is no fuel left, the star collapses and the outer layers explode as a ‘supernova’.
How long can a star live?
Generally, the more massive the star, the faster it burns up its fuel supply, and the shorter its life. The most massive stars can burn out and explode in a supernova after only a few million years of fusion. A star with a mass like the Sun, on the other hand, can continue fusing hydrogen for about 10 billion years.
