The annuals of the CIS are a collection of the main data obtained through the barometers of opinion carried out throughout a year by this institution. The presentation of the same intended to be visual, and easy to access, for anyone interested in knowing the opinions and attitudes of the Spanish population on various topics of interest. In this entry we present the Yearbook of the CIS for 2013.
Presentation
The Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) has as its main function the study of the attitudes and behaviour of Spanish society, as well as the measurement of their stability and change over time. This yearbook is part of a series launched in 2012 that collects, in a nutshell, the results of the barometers of opinion monthly made, by the application of personal surveys, in the year 2013. It incorporates the questions of special relevance, some of which are repeated monthly, while others respond to the character dossier on each of the surveys. This is intended to move, a more visual way, and next, the data generated annually by this institution.
The present volume consists of a first section devoted to a detailed description of the methodology used along this document, ten thematic chapters and an annex with the technical data sheets of the studies used for this yearbook. The first two chapters are longitudinal, and they are reflected in the perceptions on the economic situation and policy, and the valuation of the government and the opposition. Follow eight chapters in monographs, in which are discussed topics such as the social image of teachers, the journalism and the media, the rights of the citizens to the new technologies, social habits, road safety, social participation and partnership, disability and opinion on fiscal policy.
The tables presented allow us to understand what kind of people we interviewed are more likely to hold each of the opinions gathered in the polls, according to a selection of features. These include socio-demographic features as sex, age, educational background, employment status, marital status, or socioeconomic status, but also others such as the size of the municipality where he resides, the ideology, the memory of vote and the religious practice. In this way, in addition to presenting, in a general way, the opinion of the people interviewed, this yearbook provides the possibility to be tailored to specific groups.
The databases used for the creation of this yearbook, as well as all of the surveys, series and questions asked by the CIS since 1999, are available on its website (www.cis.es) to be consulted or downloaded free of charge.
