What happens if you put regular gas in a G35?
The Infiniti G35 does require gas with an octane of 91 or higher, ie premium gas. Do not put anything lower than this or it can cause serious damage to the engine. The gas in the cylinders will detonate incorrectly if you use a lower grade gas which will cause you to loose power and damage the engine.
Does insurance cover putting wrong fuel in car?
Most insurance policies specifically exclude any damages caused by putting the wrong fuel in your vehicle. In some cases, mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI) may cover misfuelling expenses. In most cases, however, your car insurance company will deny any claims related to putting the wrong fuel in your vehicle.
Can high octane gas damage an engine?
The higher octane gives premium gas greater resistance to early fuel ignition, which can result in potential damage, sometimes accompanied by audible engine knocking or pinging. It’s the fuel’s ability to be compressed more without pre-igniting that results in more power when used in the appropriate engine.
