How useful is CS50?
CS50 on EdX is an excellent course, but it is effectively three courses in one in a slightly non-traditional MOOC style, so how useful it is to you depends on how you use it. Do not expect to complete a “week” of the course every week if starting from scratch.
What can you do after completing CS50?
If you have taken CS50 and you’re interested in pursuing computer science further, then you can learn more. Perhaps the most important skill that CS50 teaches is the ability to teach yourself. With that skill, you can learn new programming languages, technologies, and paradigms (just like you did when you took CS50).
How much time does it take to complete CS50?
Timeline. There is no to-the-hour estimate from Harvard. They do state problem sets take 10–20 hours to complete. With 8 problem sets, ~5 hours of video content per week, and a final project, a ballpark estimate would be somewhere just north of 200 hours.
How difficult is CS50?
Overall, it is doable, but also very difficult. It is said that 3 months is usually needed to complete the course, though you can spend more time. It only took me a bit more than 1 month to complete it because I have a great passion for programming and spent 5-6 hours everyday on the psets.
Why does CS50 use C?
C is just about as close to a computer’s hardware as you can get before you have assembly language (which would be too arcane, I think, for an introductory course like CS50). In C, there’s no magic. If you want something to be somewhere in memory, you have to put it there yourself.
What do you learn in CS50?

Is a 3.6 GPA good for law school?
The 168 and 3.6 is a bit low for the top end. I think you have a good chance at Cornell, but, taking it from the top: I think those numbers are a bit weak for Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago Northwestern, Berkeley, and Penn. The numbers are borderline for NYU, Michigan, Georgetown, Texas and UCLA.
