Do soldiers get weekends off in AIT?
Weekend, off-post passes are allowed by TRADOC after Gold Phase, I believe, though this could also be unit dependent. I went to AIT at Ft. Lee, but my company did allow weekend overnight passes if your parent/spouse signed you out and you lived within a certain radius of the base.
Can you skip AIT?
Some will allow for “skipping” all of AIT or portions of AIT. Depends on the MOS. Usually, there is an education, certification, experience in civilian job or a combination. Most are vocational trade type jobs and the rest are in the medical field.
Do you get your phone in Infantry AIT?
Although many recruiters tell Soldiers not to bring their cell phone to basic training, many Soldiers are allowed to use them when they earn phone privileges to call home. Cell phone use depends on the drill sergeants. Some drill sergeants allow them, others do not.
What is 35f AIT like?

IET soldiers are prohibited from using tobacco products. Phase V (weeks 4 through 9 of AIT or weeks 14 through 19 of OSUT). IET soldiers are prohibited from using tobacco products or driving POVs.
Do you get paid during AIT?
Most certainly you will. of course you will be paid – attending AIT is active duty status, and you will be paid what the salary is for your rank.
