Can you assign certain students to Google classroom?
Just yesterday, Google released a new feature to Google Classroom that many teachers have been requesting for quite some time – the ability to assign work to individual students! Now if you want to differentiate work according to student teams or learning styles, you can!
How do I restrict students in Google Classroom?
Mute a student on the People page
- Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In. Sign in with your Google Account. For example, [email protected] or [email protected]. Learn more.
- Click the class.
- Click People.
- Next to the student that you want to mute, check the box.
- Click Actions. Mute.
- Click Mute again to confirm.
Can students read private comments on Google classroom?
You can add private comments for a student. The student sees and responds to your comment when they open the returned assignment. If the student responds to your comment, you can read it and reply in the grading tool. Important: Private comments can’t be edited or deleted after you post them.
Why can’t I add students to Google classroom?

Can my teacher see me on Google meets?
Teachers can automatically mute all participants and can ask you to wait until they allow you in the room. The teacher will not be able to see you unless you are looking at the Zoom app. Click on Participants to see the Participants window shown on the screenshot below.

Can my school see what I do on my personal account?
No. They would have access to the stuff you do on your school account. They can’t access everything just through their access to your school account. There are other ways for them to see what you do on the computer if they have things installed on it.

Text Messages are unlikely, as they are SMS and not sent over WIFI but thru your cell service. Any Web traffic you make while on the schools wifi is most likely monitored and the school would be in their right to do so, and could be traced back to your device if they wanted to very easily.
