A letter grade of a D is technically considered passing because it not a failure. A D is any percentage between 60-69%, whereas a failure occurs below 60%. Even though a D is a passing grade, it’s barely passing. As such, it is not looked at favorably.

Originally Answered: If you have an A- on your grades and the others are all A’s, are you still a straight A student? Yes, you are. It’s still an A-grade, but I don’t think anyone but the harshest judge will hold it against you.
Are B’s bad in college?
all “B’s” would mean a 3.0 GPA. If the all Student Average is, say, 2.5, you have done better than the average student. No, not so much a bad student as much as one who is in a field they do not belong in or that they are too distracted to stay focused on what they are at college for.
