Where is the name ampere came from?
The ampere is named for French physicist and mathematician André-Marie Ampère (1775–1836), who studied electromagnetism and laid the foundation of electrodynamics.
Is amperage a word?
Amperage is not correct term. I’ve heard another say that Voltage and Wattage fall in the same category.

How much current is used in homes?
